History

Manufacture Alabama is the only trade association in the state dedicated exclusively to the competitive, legislative, regulatory and operational interests and needs of manufacturers and their partner industries and businesses.

Based in Montgomery, Manufacture Alabama represents hundreds of companies in a wide range of industries that share common interests and goals and that face common competitive challenges in today's tough global marketplace. Some of our members are among the nation's largest, most recognized corporations. Many are mid-sized or small family-owned manufacturers or manufacturing suppliers and vendors. All of them are vital parts of a manufacturing base crucial to Alabama's economy and job base.

  • Mission: To create a business and political climate that promotes a positive, competitive environment and enhances the opportunity for growth of Alabama manufacturers.
  • Vision: To make Alabama the best business and political location in the U.S. for manufacturers.

Today, under the manufacture Alabama banner, these diverse manufacturing companies and their vendor and supplier partners enjoy a stronger, more unified voice for pro-manufacturing agenda. Manufacture Alabama is actively engaged in the governmental process – affecting positive out-comes for its members in Montgomery in Washington, D.C., and local communities.

With support and approval of its board of directors and an active membership structure of committees, councils and advisory groups, the association is actively working toward helping the competitiveness of manufacturers and their vendors and suppliers on a number of fronts. Manufacture Alabama's staff handles day-to-day operations and legislative affairs under the direction of its president, George Clark, a former member of the Alabama House of Representatives and a long-time advocate for industry.

Manufacturers face serious challenges, but also great opportunity—the opportunity to make a positive difference for manufacturers and for Alabama.
